- NOTHING + NOUN
- Example, "nothing money"> "Want to go to the movies?", "Nothing money.", "OK, maybe some other time."
- Used with any noun and mostly not used in a complete sentence, usually a short reply.
- I caught a student translating "nothing money" to "nada dinero" in my Spanish class. LOL
- EVER SINCE
- Example, "That notice was written on the board ever since."
- This one leaves you hanging...ever since...when???
- FASTBREAK
- Example, "Do you homework." "I"m going to fastbreak, Miss."
- To do something quickly or in a hurry.
- TO TRY
- Example, "Have you tried going to Guam yet?" "Have you tried listening to this song?"
- To have the experience of doing something, not actually trying to do it
- ALREADY
- Example, "Have you done your homework?" "Already, Miss."
- A short reply to mean "I already did that" or "I'm done".
- TO OFF
- Example, "Off the lights, please."
- To turn off.
- PLENTY (adj)
- Example, "There are plenty of people in Saipan", "I have plenty money"
- A lot, over used and does not mean "more than sufficient" as on the mainland.
- MY OWN
- Example, (talking about cars) "Did you see my own?", "Yes, I saw your car."
- Mine, without saying the noun. Leaves you hanging -- my own...what??
