Fiesta time!

It's been an exciting week here on Rota.  On Wednesday the community held a singing and dancing talent show with cash prizes, so lots of the high school kids enrolled.  Here's the video I made, mostly focusing on the high schools students' acts (starting with the Marianas anthem):

Thursday they did the coronation of a Queen, and a tilapia cook off with home grown tilapia! On Friday we hung out at the Chamorro village, where all the stuff is going on, and watched the carnival games, like students paying to throw syrup sponges at teachers and face painting.  There was a reggae band from Guam that was good, and also Filipino food for sale.  Although there wasn't really much going on, the whole town was out, especially my students.  So it was nice to just be around all the people that we already know at least a little bit.

Last night there was a huge potluck for everyone for free!

So what ethnicity are most of the people there? You said there was a Chamorro village so I assume it's not Chamorran. What is the primary language?
